Musical Journey

Discover my diverse musical compositions and collaborations.I have performed in over 200 concerts across three different musical genres. My experience spans opera, classical song (lied and aria), and contemporary/folk-influenced music. I have been a member of opera choirs in both Tampere and Helsinki, and have sung classical repertoire in concert halls, churches, and various venues throughout Finland and abroad. My performances reflect a versatile vocal journey rooted in both tradition and personal expression.

In addition to my classical background, I have performed pop and folk music in a wide range of languages, including Kurdish, Persian, English, Italian, Spanish, and Finnish. I have released three albums in this field, showcasing my work as a singer, composer, lyricist, and arranger. Much of my music has been created in my home studio in Helsinki, where I continue to develop new material that blends cultural influences with a personal artistic voice.

Together with my younger brother, Marouf Sirvan Majidi, I co-founded the Kurdish-Persian music group BaranBand in 2013. As the lead singer, composer, and lyricist, I have been an integral part of the band’s creative identity. Since its founding, BaranBand has performed in over 150 concerts across Finland and internationally, including in Sweden, Spain, Poland, Denmark, and Portugal. Our performances have taken place in concert halls, expos, schools, and festivals, where we have shared our music with diverse audiences and celebrated our cultural roots through song.

The Soldier(2025) Synopses

In the frozen forests of Finland, 1944, a wounded soldier flees through snow and silence, chased by shadows of war and of his own past. Decades later, a modern-day film director becomes obsessed with telling the soldier’s story — but the more he digs, the more blurred the line between memory and imagination becomes. As he retraces the soldier's final footsteps, one question haunts him:Can you change the ending of a life already lived?

Director Statement

The Soldier began as a haunting image — a man running, bleeding, through the snow-covered forests of Finland. I didn’t know who he was at first, but I felt his urgency, his silence, and the weight of a story trying to survive.
As an Iranian-Finnish artist with Kurdish roots, I’ve lived between worlds, languages, and histories — some visible, others buried. This film is a meditation on memory, war, and the fragile threads that connect past to present. It’s also a reflection on storytelling itself: Can we ever truly know another’s life? And what happens when a director, like myself, dares to imagine the inner world of someone long gone?
Blending realism with poetic reconstruction, The Soldier is not just a war film. It’s about the act of remembering — through music, through silence, through cinema. It’s about a man who may or may not have survived, and a filmmaker who must finish the story either way.
